SMU Track And Field Racks Up Victories On Day One Of Arkansas Invitational
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (SMU) – The SMU field portion of the track and field team, racked up a couple of victories on day one of the Arkansas Invitational. Simoné du Toit and Ayla Gill each came away with victories during the first day of competition.
Gill, coming off a third place finish at the Texas A&M Invitational last weekend, had a score of 18.37m in the weight throw. She edged out teammate Lauren Kuhner, who finished second with a mark of 18.01m. du Toit won the shot put with a throw of 15.69m. All three scores for the Mustangs were NCAA Provisional marks.
Action will resume at 11 a.m., Saturday in Fayetteville as the Arkansas Invitational concludes.
