SMU Women’s Swimmer Therese Svendsen Wins Conference USA Swimmer Of The Week
DALLAS (SMU) – SMU women’s swimmer Therese Svendsen was named the Conference USA swimmer of the week Tuesday for her performance in the Missouri Grand Prix last weekend.
Svendsen posted two NCAA "B" qualifying times over the weekend at the Missouri Grand Prix in the 100- and 200- LC meter backstrokes. Her time of 1:02.84 in the 100- LC meter back was good for first-place honors. The Malmo, Sweden native touched the wall at 2:16.05 in the 200- LC meter back to finish third in the event. This is Svendsen's first honor of the season and second of her career.
SMU will have the next week off before returning to action on Feb. 24 in Houston as part of the Conference USA Championships. The Mustangs have won all four previous C-USA titles since joining the league in 2005-06.
