Simoné du Toit named co-Conference USA Athlete of the Week

DALLAS (SMU) – SMU track and field athlete Simoné du Toit was named the co-Conference USA Athlete of the Week for her performance this weekend at the Bobby Lane Invitational in Arlington.

du Toit won a pair of events at the Bobby Lane Invitational after tossing the shot put 16.42m (53-10.50) and posting a mark of 51.13m (167-09.00) in the discus. Her shot put mark ranks tied for second in the NCAA, while her discus stands at No. 4. This is du Toit’s first career outdoor weekly honor.

SMU will be in action at the Texas Relays this weekend on the campus of the University of Texas. Full results will be available at the conclusion of the meet.
