DALLAS (SMU) --- The SMU volleyball team swept Texas Tech (25-15, 25-20, 25-17) in its first match of the Doubletree Invitational on Friday afternoon at Moody Coliseum.
The Mustangs (4-0) were led by 12 kills and 10 digs from Kathryn Wilkerson, who tallied her third double-double of the season. Wilkerson converted on a career-best 12 of 21 swings (.571 attack percentage) against the Red Raiders (1-3). Junior Jessica Oliver added nine kills and four blocks in the win.
Sidney Stewart led the Mustangs in digs for the third consecutive match. The junior, who last week was named Conference USA's Defensive Player of the Week, tallied 13 digs.
Today's win moves the Mustangs to 4-0 on the year and the team's best start since 2007. The win is the second for SMU over a Big XII school after defeating Baylor last weekend.
The Mustangs return to the court tonight to face Texas State (2-2) at 7:30 p.m.
