Women's Swimming Dominates North Texas Relays
Mustangs win six of 10 events

MANSFIELD, Texas (SMU) - The SMU women's swim team opened the 2010-11 season with a huge win at the North Texas Relays Friday night. The Mustangs won six of the ten relay events and took second in three others, collecting 118 points.
Newcomers Monika Babok and Genny Konicke led the team, working together to win three events for the Mustangs. Babok and Konicke combined with Denisa Smolenova to win the 300-fly relay, the day's first event, in 2:48.67. The duo then teamed up with Jessica Gardner and Emily Vavourakis winning the 200-free relay in 1:36.56. Babok and Konicke closed out the night by winning the final event, the 400-free relay, with Nina Rangelova and Ana Santos in 3:27.60.
SMU won the 300-breast relay with Raminta Dvariskyte, Jacqueline St. Louis and Maroua Mathlouthi posting a time of 3:21.18. Dvariskyte then worked with Therese Svendsen, Smolenova and Santos to win the 400-medley relay in 3:51.81. Svendsen, Deanna Matthews, Mathlouthi and Jessica Schauwecker took first in the 400-medley IM relay with a time of 3:59.29.
The Mustangs claimed second in the 800-free relay (7:30.32), the 500-free relay (4:33.81) and the 1,500-free relay (15:00.74).
