Kelli Becerra Named C-USA Co-Setter Of The Week

IRVING, Texas (SMU) --- SMU volleyball player Kelli Becerra was named Conference USA's Co-Setter of the Week, the league announced today. The junior guided the Mustangs to two wins over Memphis and forced league-leading Tulsa to five sets by averaging 10.08 assists per set this past week.

On Wednesday, Becerra notched a season-high 55 assists and 10 digs against Tulsa. The Austin, Texas product followed with 30 and 36 assists in the two wins over Memphis. Behind Becerra's setting, the Mustangs (14-4, 6-1 C-USA) converted at a .297 hitting percentage during the week.

The distinction marks Becerra's second this season after winning C-USA's week one setter honors. For the season, Becerra has averaged 10.59 assists and 2.53 digs per set.

SMU travels to East Carolina on Friday, Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. (CT) and follows with a Sunday, Oct. 17 12 p.m. match at Marshall. SMU is tied with Rice for second in Conference USA with a 6-1 record this season.
