Sidney Stewart Named C-USA Defensive Player of the Week

IRVING, Texas (SMU) --- SMU's libero Sidney Stewart was named Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week today by the league office. The honor marks Stewart's third this season.
This week, Stewart averaged a league-high 6.88 digs per set and tallied 34 digs in a match against Houston, which is the fourth highest single-match total this season. Stewart posted this season's league single-match high with 39 digs against Sacramento State earlier this season.
For her career, the junior has totaled 1,423 digs, which is the second highest amount in program history. With the latest honor, Stewart has been named as the C-USA's Defensive Player of the Week five times during her career.
