Webb Selected Academic All-Conference USA

Nov. 3, 2010

IRVING, Texas (SMU) - SMU women's soccer player Courtney Webb was named to the Conference USA All-Academic First Team. This is the first Academic All-Conference selection for Webb, a civil engineering major.

The junior goalkeeper played every minute in goal for the Mustangs, leading the team to an 11-6-3 record and a Conference USA Championship berth. Webb set personal bests in goals-against average (1.01), save percentage (.800) and shutouts (7) in a season. She posted three consecutive shutouts Oct. 1 - Oct. 8 and went 316 minutes without conceding a goal. Webb also stopped two penalty kicks in that span and was named Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts.

SMU plays Rice in the first round of the conference tournament in Orlando tonight, Nov. 3, at 6:30 p.m.
