ORLANDO (SMU) - The SMU women's soccer team was defeated 2-0 by Central Florida in the Conference USA Championship semifinal Friday night. With the loss, SMU falls to 11-7-4 on the year.

Junior goalkeeper Courtney Webb turned in another stellar performance for the Mustangs in goal. Webb recorded seven saves against the Knights, who led Conference USA with 47 goals in the regular season goals.

Senior midfielder Kristin Medeiros led SMU with four shots, one of which was on frame. Amanda Burgardt, Mallory Baum and Courtney Smith also tallied shots on goal for the Mustangs.

UCF got on the board when Kim Newsome capitalized on an SMU turnover just 2:11 in to the game. Nicolette Radovic added insurance for the Knights when she collected a rebound and fired it home for a 2-0 lead in the 29th minute.

SMU must now await the NCAA Tournament selection, set to take place Monday, November 8.

What a shame.

Oh well - a great season and a lot to build on for next year!

Lack of quality depth hurt them this year. Too many injuries and less talented backups. Let's hope they can beg, borrow or steal an invite the the 'big tourney'.

GO PONIES!!!

Red,
We can always count on you to put everyone in their place. Actually with what the team had to work with and through showed they have more character than you.
