As if anybody needs any more proof the NCAA is a rigged, money-grubbing organization,
the top three RPI schools left out of the women's soccer tournament are Toledo, Denver, and SMU.
Lower-ranked RPI schools in the tournament include Auburn, Oklahoma, and Penn State.
We'll be there next year! Thanks for a great season.

Kristin Medeiros and Lauren Shepherd have been outstanding players for four years. I wish they could have enjoyed a trip to the NCAA tournament.
Thanks for everything you have given over the last four years.

I will second that! They defied the odds by making it through the hand they were dealt and came through with flying colors. Way to go Kristin and Lauren! You will be missed by many. I hope for the sake of the soccer program your influence remains strong and vital.

I agree.
It was awesome to see Lauren get All-Conference recognition and Kristin get All-Tournament recognition.
Thanks for four great years...

Snubbed??? Rigged?? Some serious allegations/blame to pin on the NCAA just to defend a team that had a decent year. WSoccer lost 7 games (4 ties) and didn't win conference..win more games plus conference and make the decision easy for the NCAA.

Ha. Those words were chosen somewhat sarcastically - everybody knows the NCAA is in business to make money and the big schools help them a lot more than the small schools.
It is unfair to leave higher ranked schools out. We did hang with Oklahoma State and also played well AT Portland. We can play top programs competitively.
We did slip a bit in the RPI released after the tournament selection, but it still looks like we are high enough to get a bid after all of the automatic qualifiers.
Plus, C-USA is at the point where they potentially deserve three teams, and we are much higher than Houston so we would get that theoretical third conference bid.
You are right though. A couple more wins and we are in easily - next year...

With all the injuries this team had to endure.....I am pleased with their finish. Players who weren't "pre season" starters ended up having to contribute a lot after key players were lost for the season. Hopefully, next year with that experience, we then create a team with more depth. With Webb, Eidson and Cox being seniors.....they could make a great run. This class of seniors left big shoes to fill for the juniors. They lead with class and grace! Excellent role models on and off the field. Brent's first true recruiting class will be seniors....expectations will be HIGH!

I can foresee Jessica B and Shelby R taking on leadership roles in the near future. Both are very skilled players and come from great disciplined programs. Both have witnessed what Kristin and Lauren have begun. Keep it going girls!
