Kalis, Soto Receive National Team Of The Week Honors

DALLAS (SMU) - SMU men's soccer players Ian Kalis and Josue Soto were named to the TopDrawerSoccer National Team of the Week after leading No. 5 seed SMU to a 1-0 win over No. 12 William & Mary in the Round of 16. Soto was also selected to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week for his efforts. SMU is now 16-2-1 on the season.
Soto scored the game's lone goal Sunday night as the Mustangs advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals. Kalis fed the ball to Soto, who then fired it home for his seventh tally of the season and fourth game-winner. The assist was Kalis' third of the year and second in as many games.
The Mustangs head to Chapel Hill, N.C., to take on No. 4 North Carolina in the Elite Eight Friday, Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. CT.
