CRAIG HILL: Hill Country

Goal scorers often get most of the attention in soccer, and in many cases, that's justified. But as the fifth-seeded SMU men's soccer team gets ready to face fourth-seeded North Carolina in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament, the Mustangs can take comfort in the fact that senior goalkeeper Craig Hill will be manning the net. Hill shut out William & Mary last week, to give him 14 in his career, and has started for more than three seasons, which has contributed to his calm demeanor between the pipes.

PonyFans.com visited with Hill, defender Adam Still, head coach Tim McClements and goalkeepers coach Paul Hason to discuss Hill's development, including how he was helped by training for the summer with FC Dallas.

Fantastic story about a fantastic player.

Thanks, Craig, for your years between the pipes. You played some great soccer and represented the university with class and honor.

Good luck to you and the rest of the seniors.

Thanks son, for giving me the thrill that most dad's will never know. Watching their kids to what they love and do it well. One chapter ends and the next begins. I know that whatever you decide to do you will do it well. Love to you and the rest of the seniors that I've had the great pleasure of knowing these past years.
