Alenbratt, SMU cross country team receive All-Academic honors

NEW ORLEANS (SMU/USTFCCCA) --- The SMU cross country team and sophomore Mary Alenbratt were honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for their academic accomplishments today.
The team maintained a cumulative 3.34 GPA and earned recognition as an USTFCCCA All-Academic Team by the organization. To qualify as a all-academic team, the squad must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five regional at their respective NCAA regional championship.
Alenbratt, a Bohus, Sweden native, was selected as a 2010 Div. I Cross Country All-Academic honoree. The USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team's student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have either earned USTFCCCA All-America status or finished in the NCAA region's top 15 (or top 10 percent) in 2010.
Alenbratt and the SMU track and field team return to action Feb. 25-26 in Conference USA Indoor Championships hosted by the University of Houston.
