With the great news Marta Lesniak was named All-American in tennis today it is a good time to pause and thank all of the All-American athletes on The Hilltop who have represented SMU so well this season.

Congratulations to Simone du Toit (discus), Jordyn Pettersen (equestrian), and Marta Lesniak (tennis)!

Also of note, Arthur Ivo was second-team All-American in men's soccer, and du Toit missed being All-American in shot put by just one position.

And the best thing of all - they are all just juniors this season so we have a lot of excitement to look forward to next season!

Contratulations to all of you once again and Go Ponies!

Dan, there are more out there. I know track recognizes both 1st team and 2nd team All-Americans.

I went through the news sections for all of the sports on the athletics web site, so if there are other second/third teamers they weren't mentioned by the athletic department.

Track and field would not have been completed yet - actually, they haven't even posted anything about du Toit finishing 9th in shot put yet. Amazing...

Tom Cole from the men's swim team and Therese Svendsen from women's swimming were also All-Americans.

Simone du Toit was also All-American indoor in shot put.
