Well, the season has come down to three road C-USA games which start Friday in Colorado Springs against the Colorado College Tigers - in a game that starts at 4pm Central time for some reason. Do they not have lights or something?

Anyway - looking at the rankings and RPI and stuff is mainly for entertainment purposes at this point (although it is nice to still be getting some votes in the regional poll). SMU needs to put up points in these final three games and finish second in the conference regular season standings.

The health of leading scorer Kenzie Scovill is certainly in question for this weekend. Anybody watching Sunday saw another potential injury late but let's all hope that was nothing too concerning.

It is seriously put up or shut up time for this team. After the events of Sunday this season could obviously go in two very different directions. Personally, I think this SMU team has enough heart and leadership to not let one play - as uncharacteristic as any play you could possibly dream of - derail a team who is the only one in the country to take any points from Memphis this season.

On the bright side, when the schedule comes out and you have a match at Colorado College in late October you always wonder about the weather. The forecast is fantastic for Friday - sunny with a high of 69!

GO PONIES!!!!!

Actually Hartweck is at right back and Larson is in that extra midfielder spot we have used from time to time. Whatever.

Mustangs get away with some sloppy defense - big save by Webb.

Relatively even through 10 minutes.

SMU gives up a free kick just outside the box but are able to survive.

Still 0-0 after 28 minutes.

SMU gets an indirect free kick from around 12 yards after the keeper handles a backpass. Baum touches to Smith but the keeper makes the save.

CC hits the crossbar...

Around 4 left in the first - still 0-0.

HT 0-0.

SMU had a couple of defensive breakdowns that unfortunately led to some pretty decent shots for CC. Thankfully, Webb came up with the saves.

The Mustangs had a little life late in the 1st with the indirect free kick and back-to-back corners that led to a decent shot, but other than that the SMU offense hasn't really done much.

The stats don't lie:

Shots: SMU 2, CC 11
Shots on goal: SMU 1, CC 4 (only shot on goal for SMU was the indirect free kick...)
Corners: SMU 2, CC 2
Fouls: SMU 6, CC 5

1-0 CC 38:47 left. Nice hard low shot from about 15 yards after dribbling through 2 or 3 SMU defenders...

Baum was down injured but she looks OK.

CC got a yellow for it.

Great shot from Baum from 20 after a nice feed from Clarke, but another diving save from the CC keeper.
