SMU heads south to Austin this weekend for games against New Mexico and Virginia.

The New Mexico game is at 5pm Friday. The Lobos are 0-3-1 with losses to Texas Tech, Iowa State, and Nebraska. They also had a 1-1 draw with TCU.

Virginia is 3-1-0 and currently ranked 10th in the country by the NCAA. The Cavaliers have three victories against lesser teams (Radford, Liberty, and UNC Wilmington) and a loss to Penn State. The SMU-Virginia game is at 11am Sunday.

Of course, SMU can not look past New Mexico, but the Virginia game will be a fascinating test for what looks to be a potentially really good SMU team this season.

Hopefully, SMU can have a great weekend in Austin.

Go Ponies!

I assume the SMU game is underway against New Mexico in Austin. Gametracker is still stuck on zeros.

Bodden in goal with the rest of the usual starters (Lewis, Hartweck, Bartol, Smith; Clarke, Baum, Robinson; Elliott, Redman, Scovill)

Go Ponies!

Still no idea what is going on in Austin. You would think Texas would have the basic stuff down by now, wouldn't you?

4-1 final. It must have been one of those nights. New Mexico got three quick goals in the first and obviously it is tough to come back from that.

The SMU release from the UNM game:

"We played poorly in the first half," Head Coach Chris Petrucelli said. "We have to go back and see where we let down and change some things."

Virginia 3-0 over Texas final. 19 shots and 11 on goal for the Cavaliers. 9-0 on corners too. Wow.

We will definitely have our work cut out for us Sunday, but I'm sure the team will want to get back out on the field and get the sour taste from today out of their mouths and play a fantastic game.

Go Ponies!
