For the third straight season, SMU will face Rice in the first round of the C-USA Tournament. The game will be Wednesday at 5:30pm CST in El Paso.
Needless to say, the SMU-Rice series has been very close and a bit heated over the past couple of seasons.
In 2010, SMU fell 2-1 in OT at Rice during the regular season, but got revenge in the conference tournament by advancing 4-2 on penalties after playing to a 0-0 draw over 110 minutes (the famous Courtney Webb shootout).
Last season, Rice defeated SMU 1-0 at Westcott on a late goal, and then also beat SMU in the conference tournament 2-1 in double overtime.
This year, Rice beat SMU 3-2 with another late goal in Houston.
Hopefully, SMU will be able to turn things around and take care of Rice in the tournament this time!
GO PONIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SMU is through to the C-USA Semifinals with a 3-1 win over RIce!
It's so great to put it on the Owls too after they have been such a thorn in our side over the recent past.
Shelby Redman with a goal and an assist. Rikki Clarke and Rachael Larson with goals as well. Courtney Smith, Mallory Baum, and Olivia Elliott each with one assist. A great team effort.
SMU will face the UCF-Memphis winner on Friday night!
Go Ponies!

Congratulations to the team and thanks Coach Petrucelli!

SMU vs. UCF at 8pm Central Friday night.
UCF beat Memphis 2-0 - with a 23-8 advantage in shots and a 15-2 advantage in shots on goal.
I know Memphis has had a rough year and UCF has been playing really well lately, but that's just crazy. Strickland must have had an amazing game to keep it at 2.
Anyway, we beat UCF in Orlando, so there is no reason to believe we can't do it again!
Go Ponies!
