This is great news for the program in many ways...

Welcome to The Hilltop (in 2015), Blair!

This quote sure says a lot:

“I visited other colleges and had some great conversations with college coaches, but I felt the greatest connection with head coach Chris Petrucelli and assistant coach Nicole Nelson at SMU,” Thorpe told TopDrawerSoccer.com. “They both attended many of my Sting games and got to know me as a player and person. The team and everyone I met in the athletic department was very welcoming. Although I live in the Dallas area, I had never actually visited SMU’s campus until my first recruiting visit. I love the campus, the athletic environment and the academics that SMU offers.”

Nice for SMU. I have been trying to pitch to SMU a young lady from the same class. She is a daughter of a friend of mine. So far, I have never heard back from the SMU staff. The young lady I speak of just took a visit to oregon, which looks like a fav with cal. She also holds offers from penn, penn state, kentucky, and uc irvine. She is ranked 89 in the class by Top Drawer. Bums me out that SMU didn't even try.

??
?? I sent info to the coaching staff twice. The young lady is a good plyer. She is smart, good person. She was looking for best options of athletics and academics. Of course I am biased, but I thought SMU would have been a great option.

I may be wrong, but I believe Horseshoe was referring to Ponymon's post...
Is Coach Phillips recruiting her?

Coach Philips is of course a football coach. You can make what you want of Ponymon's implications.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Yup.

I know nothing about the player well travelled pony is referring to, but if she is as good as advertised, I hope she ends up at SMU!

Horseshoe, SMU would be blessed to have my friend's daughter. However, I do not think they have listened to my requests. So far she has taken visits to cal, oregon, penn, and kentucky. As far as I know, SMU hasn't contacted her. She was even at a tournament in Frisco, which her team from So Cal won.

Sigh...

I heard back from the coaching staff. They want my friend's daughter to send her profile to the staff. I already gave them all they need to begin looking themselves. The young lady in question doesn't need to send profiles to schools. They are knocking on her door. She is a top talent.

Shades of recruiting like the football program.

Sigh
