Mustangs Release 2013 Schedule
SMU will play its first game against an American Athletic Conference opponent on Sept. 20 at Rutgers.

June 11, 2013

DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU men's soccer team will have eight home games on its 2013 schedule, including four against American Athletic Conference foes. The full schedule of 17 games was announced today.

SMU will begin its season on Sunday Aug. 18 at Westcott Field against Oral Roberts at 6 p.m. The Mustangs then host Houston Baptist on Aug. 24 at 7 p.m.

The team will begin its first road trip at a tournament hosted by Indiana. SMU will play the hosts on Aug. 30 and then Notre Dame on Sept. 1. SMU will play at Tulsa's home tournament against SIU-Edwardsville (Sept. 6) and Ohio State (Sept. 8 ).

The Mustangs will hosts their annual SMU Classic Sept. 13-15. SMU will play Hartwick in the first game and UMKC in the second. Tulsa will also be at the tournament, but will not play against SMU.

SMU will take on Rutgers on Sept. 20 in the program's first meeting against an opponent from the AAC. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m.in Piscataway, N.J. The Mustangs will then participate in their fourth regular season tournament Sept. 27-29, playing road games at Washington (Sept. 27) and Portland (Sept. 29).

SMU's first home game against an AAC foe on Oct. 6 versus Louisville. Temple will visit the Hilltop on Oct. 9 before SMU will travel to Cincinnati on Oct. 12. The Mustangs return home a week later to host UCF (Oct. 19), and then will play two road contests at Memphis (Oct. 23) and at USF (Oct. 26). SMU will conclude its season with a home contest against Connecticut on Nov. 2.

I count nine home games with five AAC foes in the home schedule. Is the schedule shown wrong or the article.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

I count nine too!

I suspect the schedule might be wrong. Memphis has us playing up there on 10/23, which agrees with the text in the article.

It's still a really nice schedule.

This is a great schedule. Obviously our coach wants us to be challenged this year. Let's hope our guys come up strong. The BE was notoriously physical (remember our Final Four game with St. Johns). So, we need to be prepared to man up this year.
