SMU Women’s Tennis Signee Macie Elliott Wins Indiana Doubles Title And The Mental Attitude Award
Becomes First IHSAA Winner Of A Team Title, Singles Championship, Doubles Crown And The Mental Attitude Award

INDIANAPOLIS (SMU) --- SMU women's tennis signee Macie Elliott completed her high school career by winning the Indiana High School doubles championship and earning the IHSAA Mental Attitude Award for Evansville Memorial. Elliott, the top-ranked player in Indiana, became the first person in IHSAA history to win a team title (2012), singles championship (2011), doubles crown (2013) and the mental attitude award.
This year, Elliott led her team to the state semifinals before going on to the doubles title. Elliott has a 5.86 GPA on a 6.0 scale and is a member of the National Honor Society. She will begin her collegiate career at SMU this fall where she plans to study business and journalism.
Elliott is part of the top-ranked recruiting class in program history; placing No. 13 nationally according to TennisRecruting.net. The highly-touted 2013 signees for second-year Head Coach Kati Gyulai include Elliott, Anna Anderson, Daria Sharapova, Rosalie Willig and Mary Wright.
