M-Soccer: SMU Tournament

SMU finally plays at home this weekend, hosting the SMU Jason's Deli Invitational.

We all know the Mustangs are off to a tough start, but hopefully things will turn around this weekend.

SMU faces Hartwick Friday night, and UMKC Sunday night.

In other action, Tulsa faces UMKC Friday evening and Hartwick Sunday afternoon.

SMU defeated Hartwick 2-1 tonight!

It was a crazy game with lots of cards that ended with Hartwick playing with 9.

SMU faces UMKC Sunday night. UMKC and Tulsa played to a 1-1 draw earlier today.

Hartwick was only down to 9 for a few seconds at the end and only at 10 for a few minutes.
Both teams looked better than their records, and seemed to have trouble getting untracked all night.

I am very worried about the Men's Soccer team. We are light, fast and skillful but we have no gameplan. We got two deflected goals, and in the second half Hartwick had clearly decided on a strategy and frankly had it been 3-2 to Hartwick it would have flattered SMU. When we play more north eastern teams they will have the size and approach to handle SMU easily. I fear this season will not be a success and without a change to the type of player we recruit we will struggle.
