The Mustangs start American play Friday night at UConn. The match starts at 6pm CT.

SMU is off to a good 8-5 start, winning three of the last four matches.

Caroline Young is in fine form, leading the team with 162 kills and winning the American Volleyball player of the week award last week with 48 kills in 11 sets.

Maddie Lozano and Abbey Bybel have also made nice contributions to the SMU offense with 107 kills each.

Lozano and freshman Janelle Giordano have led the Mustangs defense with 47 and 37 blocks, respectively.

Avery Acker has been solid contributing 471 sets, and freshman libero Morgan Heise has 166 digs on the season.

UConn is 8-6 and are led by Karson Ratliff with 165 kills and Erika Thomas with 55 blocks.
