The SMU Equestrian team heads to Dover, Delaware this weekend to face the No. 3 South Carolina Gamecocks and the Delaware State Hornets at the Gambler's Choice Equestrian Center.

SMU is off to a stellar 2-0 start after defeating New Mexico State and No. 10 Tennessee-Martin last weekend in home meets.

The Gamecocks are 2-0 as well with big victories over Kansas State and Fresno State so far this season. Both of those meets were home meets for South Carolina.

The Hornets are 0-1 after being defeated by Kansas State in Dover last weekend. They also dropped a match against a combination team from Miami(OH)/Ohio State.

Both meets will be Saturday, with the South Carolina meet starting at 9am and the Delaware State meet starting at 2pm (Dallas times).

Go Ponies!

Great quote from Coach Burton:

"As much as I hate the phrase `it's a learning experience,' it really was that for our group today," interim head coach Natalie Burton said. "We have a very young team, and it was really an eye-opener to go on the road and see what that's like. This team will learn how to compete against that type of adversity as the season progresses."
