Mustangs Have Strong Showing At UNT Relays
SMU Picked Up Eight Top-Three Finishes

SOUTHLAKE, Texas (SMU) - The SMU women's swimming and diving team earned itself a third place finish at the UNT Relays on Friday evening. The Mustangs finished with a team score of 278.
The University of Arkansas finished first with a score of 414, while the University of North Texas was second with 294. Houston finished the event with 244 points and was fourth in the rankings.
"We were happy to come out ahead of Houston tonight," Head Coach Steve Collins said. "We will continue to work hard as a team and get ready for the SMU Classic in two weeks."
The 300-yard backstroke relay team of juniors Isabella Arcila and Nathalie Lindborg and senior Deanna Matthews finished in a time of 2:48.94 to lead the Mustangs with a first place finish at the event.
Second place finishes for SMU included the 300-yard butterfly relay (junior Nicole Parmenter and seniors Monika Babok and Alice McCall), 200-yard backstroke relay (juniors Rachel Nicol and Erica Donadon and Matthews), 400-yard medley relay (Arcila, Nicol, Parmenter and Matthews), the 200-yard freestyle relay (N. Lindborg, Babok, Arcila and Donadon), and the 400-yard freestyle relay (N. Lindborg, Babok, Arcila and Parmenter).
The 800-yard freestyle team (N. Lindborg, McCall, sophomore Elizabeth Krane and freshman Ursa Bezan) and the 400-yard medley team (Nicol, Matthews, Krane and Donadon) picked up third place finishes.
SMU is back in action Oct. 18 & 19 when it hosts the SMU Class at Perkins Natatorium. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. ET both evenings.
