Equestrian: SMU at Texas A&M

No. 9 SMU heads south to College Station to face No. 6 Texas A&M Friday at 10am!

The Mustangs 2-2 so far this season, with an amazing early-season showing by the combined Hunter Seat and Western teams.

The Aggies are 0-1 after getting rocked 17-2 to start their season at No. 4 Kansas State last weekend.

Events are under way in College Station. Fences is up first.

Also, the NCEA just released their latest poll. A&M dropped to No. 8. SMU slipped to No. 10.

SMU takes fences 4-1!!!

Points from Schaefer Raposa (92-88), Emma Roberts (76-70), Alex Butterworth (70-40), and Sylvia de Toledo (90-86).

Julie Fischer just dropped her point 78-77.

Horsemanship and flat up next.

SMU is up 6-4 after two events as A&M takes horsemanship 3-2.

SMU points from Kristen Schramm (74.5-73.5) and Courtney Line (74-73).

Flat will be complete soon!

A&M wins the flat 4-1 and leads 8-7 overall heading to reining.

Texas A&M defeats SMU 12-8 today.

It was a tough afternoon for the Mustangs after the 4-1 start over fences, but not a terrible showing by SMU at all - especially on the road.

Some youth appeared to show with the meet in the balance towards the end of the flat and reining.

Still, a pretty good team showing today for this early in the season.

This is why we need an easier OOC schedule. Geez!!!!!
