M-Soccer: SMU at Cincinnati

SMU is on the road against Cincinnati Saturday night at 6pm.
The Mustangs are 1-1-1 in American play after a hard-fought draw against Temple Wednesday night. The Bearcats are 0-4-0 in conference play.

Gettler Stadium at Cincinnati is FieldTurf - I can't remember the last time SMU had to play on turf.

Cincinnati up 1-0 at the half.
SMU with an 8-3 advantage in shots. Shots on goal and corners are even at 2.
Not a bad half from the Mustangs. Cincinnati generated one great chance and put it in the back of the net. SMU did put one in the net but it was called back for offside (close but the right call).

Great chance for SMU. A beautiful Nembhard cross finds nobody but the return cross is headed just high by Koroma.

SMU defeats Cincinnati 3-1!
Talk about a win a team totally needed. After a tight first half where Cincinnati converted their only chance and took a 1-0 lead to the locker room, SMU came out and thoroughly dominated the second half.
Shots ended 19-5 to SMU and shots on goal were 9-2 in favor of the Mustangs.
The Mustangs are now 3-8-1 and more importantly 2-1-1 in the American.
Overall, a great road win for the team. I'm sure they will enjoy this one...
Up next is UCF at home next Saturday night.
