M-Soccer: SMU vs. UCF

Huge game Saturday night as SMU hosts UCF at 7pm. SMU and UCF are currently tied for third in the American with 2-1-1 records.

Louisville and UConn (1st vs. 2nd) also play Saturday night so there should be a lot of movement at the top of the standings. The conference season is half over so the points are getting more and more crucial by the match. SMU hasn't beaten UCF since 2008 (the crazy 3-3 draw in 2009) and Saturday will be the perfect time to change that fact.

Three of the four American games tonight ended in a draw, including both games including the top four teams, so the standings didn't really change much:

1. Louisville (13, 4-0-1)
2. UConn (10, 2-0-4)
3. SMU (8, 2-1-2)
3. UCF (8, 2-1-2)
5. Rutgers (7, 2-3-1)
6. USF (6, 1-1-3)
6. Temple (6, 1-1-3)
8. Memphis (6, 2-4-0)
9. Cincinnati (0, 0-5-0)

Why don't they do penalty kick shootout? 0-0 ties are boring to the common man.

The real problem is that they make you play extra time and ten declare the draw. Either allow a draw at the end of 90 minutes or have a shoutout and declare a "winner".
