Caroline Young, Abbey Bybel, Cailin Bula, Janelle Giordano, Morgan Heise and Kristen Stehling will represent SMU at the U.S. Women's National Team open tryout Friday-Sunday. The student-athletes will be competing at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., for a spot on the U.S. Women's National Team and the U.S. Collegiate National Team.

my granddaughter will be there as well. She made the jr. team 3 yrs ago when they won a championship in central america, and the last two years was on the team that went to Checha and was one of the top rated players..
Hope she makes it again this time.
Good luck to the pony girls - except those competing with her. :)

Unfortunately it doesn't look like any of the SMU ladies made the team.
Proud that my granddaughter made it and they will be training in Cal. then headed to China.

Freshman Janelle Giordano earned a spot on the USA Volleyball Collegiate National Team.

Janelle Giordano is one of 12 players selected to the USA Volleyball Collegiate National Team for a tour of Europe July 8-19. The middle blocker, who was named to the All-American Athletic Conference First Team after her first season of collegiate volleyball, was one of just two freshmen chosen to the squad.
