You knew it wasn't his day when that tee shot came to rest in a divot as he was trying to close. Pinehurst was special and he really did play well in the U.S.Opens - 2 wins and 2 second place finishes

Posted: Mon Jun 09, 2014 11:01 amAs most of you remember, Phil Mickelson almost did not play in the 99 US Open because his wife was expecting their first child. Phil finished second after Payne dropped that incredible pressure putt on 18. My lasting memory of Payne Stewart will always be, after he won he grabs a dejected Phil Michelson, looks him in the eye and tells him he is going to be daddy. One of the best moments I ever witnessed in sports
