The Mustangs have their home opener Saturday against No. 8 Texas A&M at Sleepy P Ranch. It should be perfect weather too!

SMU started the season 1-2 last weekend at the WIllis Invitational in Waco, featuring a 7-7 tiebreaker win over Tennessee-Martin.

The Aggies opened their season with a big win over Tennessee-Martin.

Texas A&M defeated SMU 12-8 in College Station last season.

Go Mustangs!!!

"We are excited to host a quality SEC opponent," head coach Carol Gwin said. "To beat a team like Texas A&M, we need to ride mistake free. They are a strong team and we will be challenged. Our advantage is that we know our horses and it's at our ranch. If we avoid mental errors we made last weekend, it should be a great competition."

"We know where we want to be," Gwin explained. "Every day I see the team go out and work harder. We are trying to take the next step. I am finding out who the best five are for each event and I like how competitive we are. The goal is to have the best team for Nationals in the spring."

If we don't win horsemanship I think it's time for Carol Gwin to get her butt out of town. I mean seriously. You bring in a so called horse guru and you can't even win a horsemanship contest? Give me a break
