made the cut in his 1st event - SONY Open in Honolulu and birdied the 1st hole today to move into 32nd place. Might earn a decent paycheck in his 1st effort this season

% to agent, % to coach, % to caddy, maybe some to a manager or other staff, plus pays for all his own bennies and travel, etc. but yeah, nice week for sure

He'd be better off if the coach took an annual flat fee. Taxes, caddy and travel costs will take the biggest bites from that check.

There was a great Forbes article about tour player finances a few years back. The big guys make tons but it's not an easy life for the journeymen at all.

It's the same in tennis. Outside of the biggest stars it's tough to break even with all of the associated personal costs.
You have to give a lot of credit to the people doing something they truly love though.

rolled 9 under today to finish at minus 19; was briefly the leader in the clubhouse, but quickly de-throned. Should be close to a top 10 finish and a six figure check for this week's effort. Keep it going, Colt. Looked like he may have shed a few pounds during the brief off season
