Volleyball Announces Spring Schedule
Mustangs play two of four competitions in Moody Coliseum

DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU volleyball team will participate in four competitions this spring, playing in two tournaments and a pair of individual match dates. The Mustangs will begin spring competitions with a tournament in Moody Coliseum on March 28, playing two matches against Baylor, Oklahoma or UT-Arlington.

The Mustangs will play at Texas April 3, compete in the Collegiate F.A.S.T. Tournament in Houston April 11, and conclude the spring season at home April 21 against North Texas in Moody Coliseum. SMU will play three matches at the tournament in Houston. The list of competitors at the F.A.S.T. tournament includes 12 schools from Texas and Oklahoma. The field includes three teams that competed in the NCAA Tournament last season.

SMU faces a Texas team that advanced to the final four in 2014, and scheduled some of the toughest opponents in the area in preparation for the 2015 season.

"We felt like we were left out last season and want to do everything we can to make sure that doesn't happen again," head coach Lisa Seifert explained. "Our kids are embracing the opportunity to compete against tough opponents, and this challenging schedule will prepare us for an equally challenging schedule in the fall."

The Mustangs went 26-6 during the 2014 season, setting a program records for most wins, but were not selected for the NCAA Tournament despite finishing second in the American Athletic Conference for the second consecutive season and ranking 41st in the RPI, one of the highest not in the field of 64.
