Damian Rosales is now playing for Arizona United SC in the USL, and it looks like he might be in position to start their season opener at left back Saturday night.
Good luck, Choppy!

An athlete’s life can change in the blink of an eye. Just ask Arizona United trialist Damian Rosales.
He woke up in his own bed in Dallas as a potential member of MLS club FC Dallas on Feb. 21. But a few days later, he was on a plane to Phoenix to trial with USL club Arizona United. After a few weeks of training and three preseason games, it looks like Rosales may earn the left back spot for opening night March 28 at Orange County Blues FC. (If incumbent starter Scott Morrison isn’t healthy enough to start.)
“There really wasn’t much of a transition,†Rosales said. “The style that Dellorusso plays is similar to what FC Dallas plays as well. “
Rosales has spent his whole life in Texas up until his move to Arizona. He stayed close to home by signing on to play soccer with Southern Methodist University where he was on the field for the Mustangs all four years he attended. In his senior season, Rosales notched his best season, scoring six goals in 15 games.
Rosales was picked up by his hometown MLS club in January after a brief stint with the Austin Aztex of the United Soccer League Premier Development League (now a member of USL).
