Marten Named AAC Field Performer Of The Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Freshman Isabella Marten has been named the American Athletic Conference Field Performer of the Week, conference officials announced on Tuesday.

Marten, a freshman from Stuttgart, Germany, won the triple jump at the Bobcat Invitational, hosted by Texas State, on Saturday. Her winning mark of 13.21 meters is not only tops in The American, but is the best in the country so far this outdoor season.

In addition to the triple jump, Marten also finished fourth in the high jump with a mark of 1.65 meters.

The Mustangs return to action on Friday. The sprinters and field performers head to Waco for the Baylor Invitational, while the distance runners are set to compete in the Stanford Invitational.
