Which team?

Both are ranked, and all eight of the men's losses and four of the six women's losses are to ranked teams.

Does being ranked in the 40s or 70s really count as being ranked? Let's not dodge reality and lose sight of the goal of excellence.

I didn't mean we can't be a lot better, but we certainly aren't terrible.

Unfortunately, you're exactly right. The sad thing is that SMU is the type of school that should be strong in tennis but we really aren't.

My 'other' school is Ole Miss and it's almost annoying that Ole Miss is wrapping up what's probably going to be another top 15 season in tennis while SMU may barely make the NCAA tournament. The worst part? Ole Miss' new head coach is none other than SMU alumnus Toby Hansson.

To be perfectly blunt, our (SMU) coach doesn't seem to have the international connections you have to have to compete at the highest levels in college tennis. 7 American players is just too many - we need more Swedes (Swedes are very team oriented and 'get' the whole team match concept in college tennis) and other guys that have basically been playing semi-professionally through high school.

OU is #1 in men's tennis. SMU should be a better tennis program than OU.
