EUGENE, Ore. -- Isabella Marten put the finishing touches on a remarkable freshman season on Saturday, garnering Second-Team All-America honors in the triple jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championship.
"I couldn't be more proud of Bella," said head coach Cathy Casey. "She closed out an outstanding freshman season with a 14th-place finish, earning Second-Team All-American honors."
Marten placed 14th overall with a jump of 12.74 meters. The top eight finishers earned first team honors and finishers 9-16 landed on the second team. Georgia freshman Keturah Orji won the event with a leap of 14.15 meters.
SMU's last triple jump All-American was Diana Nikitina in 2001.

Oregon won the team title with a total of 59 points. Kentucky finished second with 50 points and Texas A&M followed in third with 47 points. For more information on the NCAA Outdoor Championship, visit the meet home page.
