W-Soccer: SMU vs. Kansas

SMU (0-1-1) faces Kansas (0-1-1) in the home opener at Westcott Friday at 5pm.

The Mustangs got off to an admittedly rough start at St. Louis last Friday, but bounced back with a huge 1-1 road draw at Missouri Sunday.

The Jayhawks also had a tough opening weekend, with a 3-0 loss at Nebraska and a 0-0 draw at Minnesota.

Kansas is coached by Mark Francis, a three-time All-America selection at SMU (1985, 1987, 1988). Friday will be his second time coaching against SMU on The Hilltop as Kansas defeated SMU 1-0 back in 2008. Francis has a 2-1-0 career record against the Mustangs as a head coach.

I know Kansas has a travel schedule and agenda, but their next game is Sunday at North Texas State.

Hopefully, with the SMU women's/men's doubleheader Friday Mark has a chance to stick around campus and at least see some of the men's game at 7:30. That would be pretty cool.
