SMU women's soccer head coach Chris Petrucelli visited with PonyFans.com after the Mustangs beat Sam Houston State, 3-1, in a game that was not as close as the score. Midfielder Paige Jacobs scored two goals, Lauren Guerra had the other, and Vanessa Valadez had three assists, while the SMU defense allowed just three shots. Three Mustangs had more shots by themselves than the entire Bearkat team: Guerra (5), Jacobs (4) and Claire Oates (5).
The Mustangs return to Westcott Field at 1 PM Sunday when they host Northwestern State.
