M-Soccer: SMU vs. Connecticut

SMU is back home Saturday night for a big conference match against UConn.
The Mustangs (8-2-2, 3-0-0) are off to a great start in conference play. The Huskies (3-3-4, 0-2-1) have admittedly struggled a bit this season, but they are always tough.
It should be a great night for soccer at Westcott Field Saturday night.

Mauro Cichero scored on a header off a free kick from Jared Rice.

I was going to go but got a free ticket to the Texas OU game and never been and had a bunch of stuff over the weekend. Just couldn't get revitalized for this one.
Definitely going to make one soon and will let you know. Add Mustang Bill to the group.

Michael Nelson * R-So. * SMU
Nelson made seven saves in an undefeated week for RV/NR SMU. He opened up the week with a two save outing versus Memphis and stopped five shots in Saturday's shutout victory over UConn. It was his second shutout in league play and fifth overall this season.

SMU is currently No. 20 in the Soccer America poll, and No. 19 in the College Soccer News poll.

The one coaches respect is the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) ... and in the new poll released today (10/13), SMU is up to No. 21!
