SMU (15-3, 5-1) heads to Florida this weekend for matches against Central Florida and South Florida.

The Mustangs face the Knights (9-9, 3-3) Friday night at 6pm Texas time. SMU then takes on the Bulls ( 6-12, 3-3) Sunday afternoon at noon Texas time.

SMU is currently in a tie for first place in The American.

The Florida teams are struggling a bit this season, but it is imperative for the Mustangs to take care of business on the road to stay at the top of the conference.

Temple was shocked in five sets at Connecticut this evening, so SMU has a big chance to open up some distance at the top of The American this weekend.

SMU beats Central Florida 3-2 (22-25, 25-18, 22-25, 28-26, 15-7)!!!!!!

Huge win for the Mustangs!

Nice to win, but not a huge win. UCF is mediocre.

Janelle Giordano led SMU with 15 kills. Abbey Bybel had 14. Cailin Bula had 12 kills and 10 digs for a double-double.

Avery Acker with 60 assists and 12 digs for another double-double. Morgan Heise had 24 digs.

SMU is now 16-3 and 6-1 in The American and will be alone in first place in the conference heading into Sunday's matches.

The Mustangs face South Florida in Tampa Sunday at noon Texas time.

Agreed, they aren't great this season, but they kept us from winning the conference last season and after being down 24-21 in the fourth this should give us some major momentum.

Uggggh, I forgot about last season. Ok, great revenge win. Plus they could have packed it in but never quit. This is the SMU team that should be getting more support from us.
