Volleyball: SMU at Tulsa/East Carolina

It's a busy week for SMU volleyball, with a trip to Tulsa to face the Golden Hurricane Wednesday night and a trip to East Carolina to face the Pirates Sunday afternoon.

The Mustangs (19-3, 9-1) currently have a two-game lead in The American. Tulsa is 10-12 overall and 5-5 in conference play. East Carolina is 10-11 overall with a 3-7 record in The American.

Two matches still in progress in The American, but SMU will have a three game lead in the conference heading into Sunday's action.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Morgan Heise • Jr. • L • SMU
Heise powered the Mustang's defense with 7.00 digs per set and was perfect in 40 serve-receive opportunities in a pair of road wins. The junior libero registered 24 digs in a sweep of East Carolina on Sunday. Heise began the week with 18 digs in a straight set win over Tulsa on Wednesday. The Hempstead, Texas, native ranks amongst the nation's leaders and headlines The American with 5.86 digs per set on the season. SMU is riding an 11-game winning streak and sits atop the conference standings with an 11-1 record in conference play.
