GREENWOOD, Ind. (SMU) – SMU women’s soccer player Taylor Barg has been named to the 2015 CoSIDA All-Academic District Seven Women’s Soccer Second Team, the organization announced today.
Barg sports a 3.79 cumulative GPA and is majoring in math and mechanical engineering.
The junior is the anchor on the SMU defense and has started all 58 matches since she arrived on the Hilltop. Barg and the Mustang defense thwarted the opposition many times this season, not allowing more than 10 shots in eight different matches.
Barg also shined on the offensive end as she was the primary free-kick taker for the Mustangs. She recorded her first assist off a free-kick in a draw against Missouri. For her career, Barg has four goals and 10 assists.
Barg helped SMU to five wins this season, leading the defense to two shutouts.
