SMU ranked after splitting SEC opponents

WACO, Texas (NCEA/SMU) – After defeating the sixth-ranked South Carolina Gamecocks and coming up just short of No. 2 Auburn, the SMU equestrian team has been inked at No. 9 on the latest National Collegiate Equestrian Association poll, announced the NCEA, Tuesday.
“We are excited to make the top 10, but we have to work even harder to get into the top-five which is our goal for the year,†said head coach Carol Gwin.
Defeating the then-ranked No. 6 South Carolina Gamecocks was the last victory over a ranked team at home since the 10-9 win against the then-ranked No. 5 Oklahoma State Cowgirls, March 8 of last season.
The Mustangs return to action Nov. 20, as they host the No. 2 Baylor Bears at Sleepy P Ranch. The meet will wrap up SMU’s fall schedule and mark the fourth of the five meet homestand. It is slated for a 10 a.m. CT start.
