TAMPA, Fla. (SMU) - The SMU men's soccer team tied Tulsa, 2-2, in double overtime before dropping a penalty-kick shootout, 4-3, in the semifinals of the American Athletic Conference Tournament on Friday evening at Corbett Field in Tampa, Florida.

Idi Camara, Mauro Cichero and Jared Rice each found the back of the net on their penalty kick attempts, but Tulsa had the advantage, 4-3, and advanced to Sunday's conference final against the winner of tonight's second semifinal between No. 2 USF and No. 3 Connecticut.

Tulsa maintained a 1-0 lead until the 42nd minute when Camara scored the equalizer on a penalty kick after a Golden Hurricane foul in the box. The goal was the senior's fifth goal of the season.

It was Tulsa who would find the next goal after Bradley Bourgeois received a pass and punched the ball into the back of the net. The Mustangs found the second equalizer of the day in the 88th minute, which eventually pushed the match into overtime, after Rice's corner kick hit the post and bounced off a Tulsa player and into the back of the net. The goal was his first of the season.

SMU was outshot 21-10 in the match, forcing American Goalkeeper of the Year Michael Nelson to make five saves.
