Lujano Named NSCAA Scholar All-America Third Team
Senior Was Named AAC Midfielder Of The Year, All-East Region Second Team

DALLAS (NSCAA/SMU) – Senior captain John Lujano was named to the 2015 NSCAA Men’s Scholar All-America Third Team, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced on Thursday.

Lujano, a senior from McPherson, Kansas, has a 3.80 grade point average and is majoring in Engineering and Mathematics. On the field, Lujano was named the American Athletic Conference Midfielder of the Year, an All-AAC First Team selection and was an NSCAA All-East Region Second Team selection.

He started all 22 matches for the Mustangs in 2015, scoring one goal off a penalty kick and attempted six shots, three on goal. Lujano helped SMU to a 15-3-4 overall record, an AAC regular-season title and an NCAA Sweet 16 appearance.

In four seasons with the Mustangs, Lujano has played in 77 games, logging 6812 minutes of action.
