Mustangs Face No. 2 TCU at 6 p.m. Wednesday

SKILLMAN, N.J. (SMU/ITA) – The SMU men’s tennis team is ranked No. 25 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), released today. The Mustangs have been ranked in 11 of the 12 weekly rankings while this is the first week SMU has cracked into the Top 25.
The Mustangs (19-5) have faced 12 ranked opponents this season and are 7-5 in those matches. SMU has wins against then No. 17 USF, then No. 35 Dartmouth and shutout victories against then No. 5 Oklahoma State and then No. 20 Tulsa.
SMU also has ranked players in both singles and doubles. Junior Hunter Johnson is the No. 48 singles player and senior Nate Lammons is the No. 82 singles player. In doubles, Hunter and Yates Johnson stand at No. 24 while the pair of Lammons and junior Arkadijs Slobodkins come in at No. 34.
The Mustangs are one of five American Athletic Conference teams in the ITA rankings this week. Tulsa is No. 18, USF is No. 22, Tulane is No. 27 and Memphis is No. 34.
SMU travels to Fort Worth, Texas on Wednesday for its match against No. 2 TCU. Doubles play is set to begin at 6 p.m. CT.
