Brunstrom-Cohn Named ITA All-Americans
Duo Will Return in 2003

SMU men's tennis duo of Johan Brunstrom and Eric Cohn were named ITA All-Americans for the 2001-2002 year. The announcement was made by the ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) on Tuesday.

The duo had a banner year, going 20-11 on the year, highlighted by a trip to the finals of the ITA Indoor Doubles Championship in Dallas in November. Both Brunstrom and Cohn were named All-WAC first team.

For Brunstrom, it marked the second straight year the Sweden native was named All-America in doubles play. Last year, Brunstrom was awarded with former SMU great Jon Wallmark.

To earn ITA All-American honors, a player must achieve one of the following: (singles) top 16 seed in NCAA Singles Championships, reach round of 16 in NCAA Singles Championships, or finish in the top 20 of the final Omni Hotels Collegiate; (doubles) top eight seed in NCAA Doubles Championships, reach quarterfinals of NCAA Doubles Championship, or finish in top 10 of final Omni Hotels Collegiate Tennis Rankings.
