Thornton, Boland Named To All-Tournament Team
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AAC) – Allie Thornton and Jewel Boland were named to the American Athletic Conference All-Tournament Team, the conference announced on Sunday evening.
The pair of forwards each scored a goal and were crucial in SMU's offensive efforts in the team's 4-2 loss to No. 1 seed Memphis in the tournament semifinals.
Thornton scored the first goal for the Mustangs in the 49th minute and assisted on Boland's goal for a total of three points during the match.
Boland added to SMU's side of the score with a sliding shot that found the top of the net in the 67th minute. Both of her shots throughout the match were on goal.
