Tulsa, Okla. - The eighth-ranked SMU men's soccer team improved to 5-1 on the season with a 2-0 victory over Denver Thursday night in day one of the Golden Hurricane Classic in Tulsa. Denver fell to 3-4-1 overall.
SMU got on the scoreboard in the 19th minute when junior midfielder J.D. Johnston one-timed a shot past Denver goalkeeper Lami Harmon. SMU sealed the victory in the final minute of regulation time when junior Adam Robertson headed in a rebounded shot with 58 seconds remaining.
