1st round has all of our guys in danger of missing the cut. Fidone and Higgs +2, Kraft +3 and Meissner finishes at +5 and ties Okie State's Austin Eckroat as low amateur. A&M's Sam Bennett finished +8

Fidone didn't attend SMU long enough to really do anything for us so it makes sense that you don't remember him. I don't remember him either.

Looks like Higgs and Fidone both have a chance of making the cut at plus 2 but Kraft and Meissner will definitely not advance to weekend play. Mac finishes plus 7 and while he was not low amateur, he did beat Aggie Sam Bennett by one stroke

Change that to Kraft and Fidone at +2. Higgs will probably miss the cut by a shot at +3.

Kelly finished strong with birdies on 3 of his last 4 holes to make the cut. I thought he was toast after 4 bogeys on his front nine. Just a reminder of how mentally tough these guys have to be to make a living on tour. Harry's bogey on his 17th hole, a par 5 no less, cost him a check this week.

Kelly finishes even stronger today with birdies on his last 5 holes to go 4 under on the day and get to 2 under for the tourney leaving him currently T-26th and in position to earn a decent check tomorrow
